It is used to fill in gaps, lengthen short teeth, correct misshapen teeth, repair wear and tear, fix chips and cover stains.
The bonding treatment involves applying tooth-coloured composite resin to the tooth’s affected areas and curing and hardening the composite with UVA light. Your dentist will then shape and smooth the composite, creating a natural-looking smile.
One of the biggest benefits of composite bonding is that it is non-invasive and requires minimal tooth preparation and no anaesthetic for surface repairs. Patients experience very little discomfort during the treatment, making it an ideal cosmetic choice for people with dental anxiety.
Composite resin is also highly durable, so your treatment can last up to 10 years if you maintain a good oral hygiene routine and visit your dentist twice a year. Although strong, avoid chewing on ice, biting your fingernails or opening packets with your teeth so you don’t chip your bonded tooth.
